Layritz Walk, summer 2024. Numbers vary!

We've changed our walk time! We used to start at 9:05 am (hence the name!) We now meet at 9:25 a.m., and walk for about one hour, starting at 9:30 a.m. with a coffee option afterwards for those who wish to stay.

Walk days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It’s a great way to meet people and stay healthy. Registration is $50/year and spouses are free. Guests are welcome at any time during the year. Walkers come when they can, to as many or few walks as they like.

We have around 50 walks in various locations around in the greater Victoria area, and occasionally farther afield. A walk schedule is sent by email or can be found on this website, with each walk marked Easy, Moderate or Steep, and a link given to the starting point.

Click on the address/map link to locate the meeting place on GPS for each walk.
If you’re thinking of joining a walking group, come for a few walks to see if the pace suits you. We do roughly 5 km. in one hour – a moderate pace. The level of difficulty is given for each walk on the schedule: easy, moderate or steep. Walkers are asked to keep an ear out for those behind them, and to stop the group if they’re no longer in earshot. You’ll probably know within a couple of walks if the pace is either too fast or too slow for you.
